what is hello charlotte?

hello charlotte is a three game series of RPGmakers created by etherane. the first two games are free on steam or itch.io!the game is criminally underplayed and unknown, but it is a masterpiece. i hope to spread it around as much as possible, as it deserves much more attention and recognition.even if you don't normally play story based games, i ask that you consider this game anyway, because it is fucking amazing.
here is the synopsis for the first game:Hello, new Puppeteer!
Meet Charlotte — a puppet you will control. Meet her alien friends, maggot cat and a certain Observer.
Dive deep into horrors of junk food, TV world, religion and romance novels for middle-aged women. Keep your puppet safe at all times. Or don't.
Have fun dying!

why you should play

hello charlotte has a lot of positives and reasons you should play.

there are a few cons that i would say outright, and they're all pretty centric on gameplay (mainly in the first game).the first game can be very frustrating, and it's filled with tons of pointless deaths. it's probably necessary to save before you do literally anything (opening doors or boxes, entering new areas).
hello charlotte also has puzzles in every game. they aren't the worst, and there are guides online if you ever get stuck.however, i think the game is well worth the frustration! episode one is just setting the stage for games two and three, where most of the magic happens. those games have far less frustration in regards to random deaths. there are no required fights either, as the game is very story/plot based and has no leveling or bosses.some examples of the beautiful art:

hello charlotte takes place in a place called the false realm. we, the players, live in the true realm. you, the player, are a puppeteer named seth, and charlotte is aware of your presence! your decisions impact how the story is played out, and you get to interact with charlotte via dialogue options.in EP1, charlotte travels to the t.v. realm, a place where each channel is a different world, looking for a certain lost alien and a way back home.
